His legacy

	Lucas Daniel Jackson So... what kind of legacy can one leave that never even took a breath, never opened his eyes to see the world, never smiled or said a single word to inspire. Our Lucas left a legacy that no one that ever knew him will forget. He didn't have to say a word to inspire us. He didn't have to look at this world to know he had left his mark. He didn't even have to breath the air, for he touched so many lives without needing to do any of it. Lucas carries the 4th generation of the name Daniel. It goes back to his great grandaddy "Pa Pa" John Daniel Jackson. Lucas had the brightest red, curly hair you can imagine. It looked just like his Aunt Hootie (Alison) and his Aunt Bookie (Tracy). They will know they were a part of him as well. He looked just like his daddy; literally from head to toe. He had his eyes, mouth, chin, thin little build, long slender fingers, and even his little hammer toe (aka crook). He had his mommy's nose. A sweet little button nose that she got from his Pop Pop. His birthday will always be shared with his Pop Pop Blackmon. All that held him knew they were holding an angel. There will never be one like him. He taught all of us adults more in the 9 months we knew him than a million books can in a lifetime. His legacy will live on with all of us... we will pass it to his brothers/sisters, his cousins that are so close to his age. We are all better people from knowing Lucas. He was our heaven-sent angel.

	Thank You Lucas Thank You Lucas Thank you Lucas for coming our way, Stopping by and saying hey. For letting us hold, cuddle, and touch, You new to us it mattered so much. For sharing your hair, your nose, your chin, Giving us a peace and joy within, Teaching us how precious an hour can be, When that is all of you we will get to see. Thank you Lucas for bonding us tight, For traveling quickly through the night, Just to allow us to see your face, And give us memories that can’t be erased. For showing us the abundance of your love That can come only from a gift above. Thank you Lucas for loving you Mom, Your time with her made her so strong, For giving your Dad a touch of gold, A bond that they will forever hold. 	Lucas' Memorial Soon after Lucas passed away, we started getting cards from our church letting us know donations were being made to the church in memory of Lucas. The money was going into the church memorial fund. We tried to think; "what is a way we can set a memorial in our church where Lucas will always be remembered." We came up with the idea to have a stained-glass added to the baby nursery. My cousin, Barbara, immediately came to mind. She makes beautiful art pieces, stained-glass being one of them. She also attends my church and is on the memorial committee. She was glad to do something so special. She worked on it for about a month and we received it last week. We could just stare at it for hours. It will be added to the nursery soon. Again, Lucas will touch all little children that pass through our church. His future brothers/sisters will see it and know how important Lucas is to our family, church, and community. He is a powerful little angel of God.
